Yea it was a little weird, but at the same time it didn't bother me all that much. My first time I came up, I was just helping Amy get her motorcycle home. Mom, Thanks for the package, hopefully you got the pic I sent you, I sent it to your email account so that you could send it to the massac county hospital that sent me two package and one included a church bulliten. If you didn't get it let me know and I'll resend it to you. Yea I got the diaper at first I thought it was a joke, but then I realized it was real, thank goodness I didn't open the bag. Theres not really much else I could think of to send, just healthy snacks, which is hard to do because nothing is really healthy for you these days. But maybe some dried fruits, and some triscuits, well its good you guys have gotten to play at least a little I haven't played in a while. But ya'll take care over there. Love ya

Hope you're doing well. Amy said you got the package we shipped from here. Just so you know it was her idea to send the dirty diaper. Cause she loves you so much I guess. She and Hannah seem to be doing well back in NC. Can't believe little Hannah is one month old today! Amy is taking her for her checkup on the 27th. I'm anxious to see how much bigger she has gotten. I think she likes to eat. Not a lot going on here. Rick and I have played a little golf but not much. Too much going on. Weather has been much better. Wish it would be like this all year. I baked some more of that friendship bread and froze it to send in your next package. I want to try and get one mailed before I leave to go back to NC. Amy wanted me to get some new pictures to you tonight. Hannah is growing and looking more like you every day. She kept us up last night for awhile but finally went to sleep. I'm hoping she will be sleeping through the night by the time Amy has to go back to work. Otherwise she'll be so tired. She is such a good baby and is so alert when she's awake. Sometimes she just likes to lay and kick.
We finally got your package in the mail today and then I found the triscuits left out so we'll have to put that in the next one. We'll be making bread again on Sunday so hopefully I can get a box out shortly after that.

Sorry no pictures posted in awhile. Amy and I are going to have something today. Got a wireless card for the laptop so now I can get both computers going on the internet. this old laptop has quirks now and then.
Everyone here is fine. Rick and I are enjoying your mom and dad's visit. My dad was here the other night and got to talking about tamales so your mom is going to show us how to make them tonight. Hopefully when you get home we can all get together like this again.
Hannah is such a charmer. Funny how she can look so much like you and then other times just like Amy. Either way she is beautiful and you'll have your work cut out for you in about 15 years or so. Amy said you both may need to be cleaning your guns when the boys come knocking. haha

Thought I would take this time to get on here and write, I can only usually get on here in the mornings now for some reason, I guess its better than nothing though. Been here just a little over a month now, seems to have gone by fairly quick of course it always does when you look back and not forward. Good day in Iraq

Hey all,
So far its a good day, I've been getting to talk to Amy just about everyday its good. I've gotten to hear the baby scream a few times to. I'd much rather hear her grumbling in the back ground but I'll take a scream to. The duststorms have ceased over here for now anyway. I was playing with a stick over here pretending to be a ninja and wacked myself in the head right by my eye, it stung a little... not much else I can actually say on here. Just that so far so good the squadron is doing good, no one hurt or anything like that. Everyone give my baby kisses and hugs but don't give her oho, its spanish for I don't know what but mom can explain it to ya'll. If she does happen to come down with it let my momma work her magic with the egg trick!!

Hannah is so beautiful its crazy, she is just perfect!! I can't wait to get home and hold her. I've saved the pics that you posted exept the top one and bottom one, for some reason they didn't go through, when you have a chance do you think you could email me those. I don't know why it does it, but I had to re-post/delete my outside dustyness picture several times before it stayed on there. Thankgoodness your there with Amy helping her out and whatnot, I appreciate it. Sue the watch dog, thats funny, as long as he doesn't think she's little bunny rabbits I think we'll be good. Here's some pictures I took of Hannah today and yesterday. She sure smells sweeter after her bath. She didn't like it much. Amy said she'd learn to love it. Both my girls are doing well. well, she is here! You probably already know but had to write a note. Hannah arrived 1250 am Amy's time weighing in at 6 lb and 1 oz. kate said she didn't get the length but Hannah had dark hair. Amy and Hannah are both doing great. I got a picture on my cell and she is beautiful. Wish I knew how to pull it up on Verizon site I'd post it here.

Well Looks like the Docs think that Hannah needs to come out, so for those of you that don't know Amy has been induced I just called her 1100pm her time 600 AM my time. She is good, she's on putocine, to help incude her, she's already at twice the amount that our friend Lauri is at, she is also at the hospital. She's also already had her epedural so if she doesn't diolate ,which she hasn't been then they are going to do a C section however we don't know when we will find this out. Hannah weights around 6lbs they estimate, so at least she's bigger than I was when I was born. But I'll be on here throught the day, I'm gonna call in about 12 or so hours, or they will call when she's born if I havne't already called. Hopefully we can get some pics up here as soon as possible. Love ya'll thanks for the support

Amy called me around 2 my time and said she was in the hospital to be induced. She sounded chipper but I don't think she'd started any labor yet. Kate is on her way to be there with her so I'm sure that all will go like clockwork. didn't know any other way to get a message to you and thought you might be checking this. I will look to see if I can get my flight moved up to tomorrow or tonight just in case. Keep checking here and I'll try to post any news that I get.

well, i can only get this thing to work for me here at work every once in awhile. but it seems to be working today. hannah has the hiccups right now. it's driving me crazy. all that walking i did yesterday did nothing but make me sore. my back is killing me now and sleep is outta the question no matter where i try to lay down. just gotta keep reminding myself it's only for a few more days and then mom will be here to save me so i can sleep. hahahahaha. she's excited about seeing her grand baby and i'm excited to be able to sleep without being nauseous. i think thats slightly humorous. anywho, it's good to see that almost everyone has got on here and is able to read and write things. it's a good place to just talk i guess. i'll be glad to start getting pictures up here though too. well, gotta go get some chow with the sister soon so i'll say good bye. i love you all and will be glad to see you in a couple of weeks. take care of yourself honey, our time will come too.

Well finally after fighting with the computer for the last 3 hours to let me get on the blog, not sure if I'm on email just yet keeps kicking me off. I knew this morning that Hannah had not come yet cause I'd of gotten a phone call or woken up by Dorre if she had. So only 6 more possible days she could be born on. I'm am very anxious!!! I'm ready. I did see the picture you posted but its wrong, very wrong cause I don't think I'm a BADASS I freakin know it!!!!!! hello everyone, no little hannah yet. but tomorrow is the due date so keep your fingers crossed. talked to juan today and he is doing good. he's as excited as the rest of us are, if not more. if you all are thinking of sending a package to him he had some other suggestions, just remember the tuna too though. He said he wants healthy snacks like sunchips, granola bars, oatmeal, and those sorts of things. Maybe a tube of icy hot since he is going to the gym a lot to work out.

Anywho honey, you never commented on the pic I put up of you. I thought it was funny. It was good to hear form you today. I always look forward to our weekly talks, I feel better afterwards knowing your safe. Don't forget to open the smaller birthday card before you call me next week. And call your mama every once in awhile, she misses you too. Your aunt Mary Lou called the other night too, thought I would tell you. She said to tell you that everyone misses you and Ted is drinking beer for you. Thought that was funny.

Only thing reliable

Well it appears that Hannah's blog is the savior of the day. I have not been able to get on it all day exept for now. I don't know why the emails aren't going through on our military accoutns, tomorrow I'll be up on yahoo hopefully that is a more trustworthy site. I am excited I'm ready as hell for all this to happen. As like you I'm bored, even though I'm busy I miss the family life. Right now all I can think about is our little trip to Croatan just wish we would have taken some pictures. We'll have to be more adiment about taking pictures something to docuemt our lifes. But I hope wish and pray everyday Hannah is born soon, but see if she's born on my birthday then I could buy whatever I want and make the excuse its for Hannah!!! Love ya Juan

Appointment Update

Just got home from my OB appt and I have finally had some progress. 75% effaced and 1 cm. Doesn't sound like much but the doc says it is a lot of progress from last week. My next appt is scheduled for the 23rd so we'll see what happens by then. I am scheduled for induction on the 26th. For those that don't know, that is Juan's birthday so I can imagine that put a big smile on his face just now. Just remember honey, inductions usually make the labor last longer so keep your fingers crossed that she decides to make her appearance before midnight. That's even if I make it that long. I'm hoping not, sorry to disappoint ya babe. But I would rather she come on her own terms. Anywho, that is all the news I have for now. If you all have any questions about anything else, call me. Heaven knows I get bored outta my mind here. I have to go order new flip-flops now cause the dogs (Cooper) ate the ones I got 2 weeks ago today. Shouldn't have left them out. Well, I love and miss you all. Keep your fingers crossed, it shouldn't be too much longer now.

just talked with Amy. She's moving furniture. They say expectant moms get a burst of energy just before they go into labor. Maybe she'll start soon. I know she's pretty miserable. And I'm very anxious. Everyone keeps asking me when I'm going to NC. I should be able to leave any time after the 18th. I have an interview that day but nothing that will keep me here after that.
I got some stuff together to send you a package. Amy is supposed to email your mailing address to me today. Hopefully I'll get it mailed in the next few days. Anything you can think of that you need just let me know and I'll get it and stick it in there with it.
No news here otherwise. Putting in time at school until I'm done for the semester in late May. Rick still busy at Honeywell. Weather turned cold this weekend but hopefully the last of it. Maybe we can get started golfing soon. Working in the yard too.

good to hear from ya, my momma isnt' computer savy so she probably won't be getting on here till Amy can show her how when she goes up to Il for Hannah. Well tell Rick I'm jelous, I've got a riding mower I bought from a friend its old as hell but, it mows the yard so it will be easier for Amy throught the Summer to keep the yard up, unfortunatley with the dogs and sand I don't have a "Lawn"!! Well hopefully everything will run smoothley up there while the baby's up there, it will be a pain for you, you finally got all the kids out of the house and now there is a new one, but just for a little while. Hi Juan,
enjoyed your pics. I guess it's good to be busy. Makes the time pass fast. I try to call Amy about every day. she sounds tired but that is normal. And probably not to change anytime soon.
Rick got a new mower today. He's so pumped. he wanted one of those zero turn tractors so that is what he got. He got the yard (sorry, I'm supposed to call it the "lawn" ha!) mowed pretty quick.
Travis came over and cooked hamburgers. Mom and Dad were here too. We finally had some nice weather. Could be a little warmer. Grandma gets cold easily. Not me, I think it's perfect - 68 and sunshine.
Everyone here is really excited about Hannah's arrival. I've been picking up some diapers and stuff so Amy doesn't have to bring stuff like that here when she comes. Didn't realize how high disposable diapers have gotten. So much to getting ready for a baby.

Well I just had lunch, some pork and tuna not bad, its starting to get hot today, a little bit of a walk from work to the cans and chow. my hands seem like they are getting darker so I can just imagine my face will and arms will soon be darkified from this hellish heat!!! But I thought I would get on here while I had a chance hope your day goes good, I'll try to get on again before I leave for the day, I know there is still 7 hours left in my shift but time goes quick so for me it will be here before you know it. Its 5 your time right now so you'll be asleep for another hour or so then you'll be getting up and on here, I've posted some of my pics I gotta take more of me and the area and stuff. Yea I got on the blog I think I figured it out though there, not sure how but I did. I'll have to try to get some pics and video's on there if not then I'll burn them to a CD's for you and lauri. And If I remember correctly Mesa said he would watch the pups not sure if that changed though. I'm gonna start working out today so we'll see how that goes. It was good talking to you yesterday on the phone, I think we'll be calling about every two days because his daughter's in the hospital and your pregnant and stuff. Well I'll get on here later, if no one is in here, if not then I'll get a hold of you another time. I know its Saturday over there so I'll try later so you have more to read and stuff. Well I think I've figured out a permenant solution to this thing, hopefully if I remember tomorrow I'll try to get some pics and a little video on this beast. But everything is good so far it gets pretty cold out here at nights still, and we have no heaters in the cans, other than that not too shabby..

hey honey, just wanted to say hello to you again. i got almost all the stuff for your package together so i should have that out to you in the next couple of days. i'll send an email letting you know when i dropped it off so you can time it and let me know. made three more loaves of bread today. i'm gonna freeze those until the pkg is ready to be sent. well, my class is graduated and kate is promoted. now i'm really gonna be bored. nothing to do. and get this, the msgt ripped up my turd's page 11. lucky S.O.B. huh?

anywho, hannah has yet to make her appearance. i'm starting to think she's not gonna be here until her due date. i hurt a little more everyday so maybe that's something in the right direction. i think kate is more nervous about this than me. she gets so worked up over everything. it's actually kinda funny. she thinks every little pain i have is a contraction. she is probably gonna be like wtf when she reads this.

well, i guess i'll go for now. just wanted to put another post on here in case you were finally able to log on. oh yeah, cooper almost got hit today. i about had a heart attack. that turd is never coming out of the house unless i have time to watch him. well, i love you and miss you babe. take care of you for me.

Hi Juan, Don't know when you will see this but wanted to write. Hope you have arrived safely by now. I was really hoping that something would change and you'd get to stay home a little longer but sometimes life sucks. I will try to call Amy as often as I can and keep watching out for her as best I can from here. Today was my last day of lectures for my students so if I need to I can be there in 11 hours. I'm going to get a bag packed this weekend and leave it ready.
Not sure if it will be any comfort, but Amy is a lot like me (I think so anyway) and I didn't have any trouble with delivery so I'm confident she will be fine too.
I'll check in frequently. Just wanted you to know we were thinking of you here.

hey you guys, i found this website that lets you send free mail to your deployed loved one. you can go to motomail.com and set up an account. what you do is type your letter and they have it printed out and mailed within 24 hours for free. you can also set up photomail and send pics. not the best quality ones, but free pictures none the less. thought this would help all of us out with the mail sending. i put the link at the top right of this page. just click there and it will take you straight to the log in/registration page. love you all.

and juan, you can sign up for this too. it has an option for you to be able to send photomail/motomail from iraq home to all of us.

hannah is moving around a lot today. she was trying to get out again last night. i didn't get a lot of sleep again. everytime she moved it was in a downward direction and it hurt like crazy. moved around a lot which was hard cause bukcley was laying on my feet and sue had his ass in my face. good thing he didn't have gas huh? i forgot that this blog was for hannah and not for me to whine and complain. sorry about that honey. i don't want to make your life harder too. i'll be fine, i always am. it won't be long and i'll have more than enough to keep my mind busy. just remember that i love you and miss you honey. i'll get the ultrasound pic on here tonight and as soon as she pops out i'll have kate put up pics for you.

Hey honey, thought i would create a blog for you and me to keep in touch. we can share pics and what not on here. our moms and kate should get on here sometime too every once in awhile. i know you won't see this for awhile but i have to write something somewhere.

your mom called last night, she's worried about me. she remembers how hard it was when your dad left and wanted to make sure i was doing okay. told her it was tough but i was good. hopefully i can keep myself busy all weekend cause it sucks being alone in the house. it's not as easy as last time cause i can't get a second job or go home to keep my mind off things. guess i'll eventually get used to it huh? besides, hannah will make an appearance soon and keep me more than busy. how are you doing? you said all this would probably sink in once you got on the plane. i worry so much about you. i do know you would rather be here too though. it's funny, you don't ever realize how much someone means to you until their gone.
